Here, Grab a Beer 1

June means summer and what’s better on a hot summer day (or warm summer night) than a cold beer? We’ve put together a list of some local hot spots – some brand new in Del Mar – to enjoy a beer with old or new friends. You might even skip the usual card and tie for Dad and take him out for a Father’s Day toast on June 19 at any of these fine establishments:

Board and Brew

Serving up craft beers and specialty sandwiches at its original location in Del Mar for more than 30 years. Stop by this casual spot after a day of sun and surf and try out its variety of micro brews from San Diego and Orange County.

1212 Camino Del Mar |

Known for its tasty Italian food offerings, but they also offer award-winning micro brews and a comfortable environment for enjoying sports. Stop by to check out some beers, watch the game on one of the many flat screen televisions, and take advantage of the weeknight Happy Hour specials.

12840 Carmel Country Road |

Poseiden on the Beach

A longtime Del Mar institution, Poseiden offers not only a terrific dining experience, but an outdoor patio and indoor bar with incredible ocean views. Among other drinks, the bar at Poseiden offers more than 15 types of beer, both bottled and on tap.

1670 Coast Blvd. |

Tasting Room Del Mar

A much-anticipated new kid on the block. Offering beer and wine, along with a full menu, tastings, and education, Tasting Room is a great spot to grab a seat on the covered patio, served by a bar with six beers on tap, and soak up the gorgeous ocean views. The newly built space also has an indoor bar and restaurant where you can partake of 22 beers on tap.

1435 Camino del Mar |

Trifecta Tavern
at Whole Foods Market

Fortify yourself for grocery shopping at the Trifecta Tavern, or make it your destination! With more than 24 craft beers on tap, including flights, Trifecta is a terrific place to enjoy food, live music, and sporting events on large screen televisions, either inside or on their outdoor patio.

2600 Via de la Valle, Suite 100 |

The Vigilante
Brewing Company

Del Mar is home to its first brewery – The Vigilante Brewing Co. Committed to all things beer, Vigilante brews a wide array of tasty beers to enjoy along with a great dinner menu, and with brunch and lunch on weekends. The brewery also offers tastings.

2201 San Dieguito Drive |

Another new kid in town, WESTROOT Tavern opened in Carmel Valley’s Pacific Highlands Ranch in May of 2016, serving lunch, dinner, and, of course, drinks, including 30 beers on tap. The tavern will also offer music, large screen televisions for taking in sports events, and two patios with fire pits.

6025 Village Way |

Searsucker Del Mar

Serves up a full menu along with an impressive array of craft beers. Hang out on the back patio for Happy Hour and enjoy the fire pits, music, and specials, many of which include beer!

12995 El Camino Real, Suite 121 |

Of course, this list is not exhaustive. It is not difficult to find a beautiful spot to enjoy a beer in Del Mar; we hope the list inspires you to check out some of the new spots and to support those that have been around for a while. And remember to raise your glass to toast Dad on Father’s Day!
