Holiday Cheer

The Holidays – one of the most anticipated times of the year. A time of hustle and bustle – family memories, celebrating with old friends. It’s a time of traditions – some old, some new. What I love most about the holidays is the timeless classics like that song that just brings back happy memories or shopping in your favorite store for that perfect gift for someone special!

One of my favorite memories growing up was the much anticipated Holiday Open House my parents would throw every Christmas Eve. Dozens of friends, family and neighbors would swing through for cookies, cocktails and stories. Cousins and casual friends would call at our doors to celebrate. Togetherness, sharing food, and fun and laughter…I don’t think I truly valued it as much as a child as I do today.

From our family to yours, here’s wishing you abundant love and happiness this holiday season!

Here are just a few of my holiday favorites I enjoy every year…

HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS – I know we live in Bing Crosby Country, but Burl Ives evokes in me the holiday spirit…from Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer to Holly Jolly Christmas, Burl Ives reminds me of all that is cheerful about the season.

HOMEMADE EGG NOG – Nothing harkens me back to memories of my childhood as much as this festive drink.  Still a perennial favorite, I’ve been known to add some spiced rum or bourbon for extra holiday cheer.

MAGIC OF THE SEASON – Now I get to really see the magic of the season come to life in my children’s eyes – I can’t tell you the immense joy this gives me each year at this time!!
